Beswick England Graduated Set of 3 Flying Partridge Wall Plaques
An exceptional, complete graduated set of three Beswick Flying Red-Legged Partridge wall plaques, featuring vibrant hand-painted polychrome glazing and dynamic mid-century form.
Designed by Arthur Gredington for Beswick England, this set (Model 1188) is widely regarded as one of the finest examples of the flying bird genre that defined mid-century British interior styling. Unlike the more common Mallard ducks, the Partridge set offers a richer color palette of russet, cream, and slate blue, with striking detailing on the flank feathers.
This set comes with unique vintage provenance: the original purchase receipt from the Queen Victoria Antique Arts and Craft Centre dated May 18, 1987. This documentation attests to the fact that these pieces have been cherished as collectible antiques for nearly 40 years.
