Pair of Vintage 1988 Louis Poulsen 'AJ Eklipta' Wall Lights by Arne Jacobsen
Designed in 1959 by the legendary Arne Jacobsen for the Rødovre Town Hall in Denmark, the AJ Eklipta is widely considered one of the most architecturally adaptable lighting fixtures of the 20th century. Jacobsen, a master of "total design," created these lights to bathe stairwells in a soft, diffused glow that defines the space without glare.
This specific pair was manufactured in Denmark in 1988 (stamped/verified) and retains the original Louis Poulsen labels. They feature Jacobsen's signature mouth-blown, three-layer opal glass. The genius of the design lies in the edge of the glass: a clear, transparent rim creates a "halo" of light around the fixture, adding a distinct decorative dimension to the pure, functional form.

Why we love them:
These aren't just lights; they are pieces of architectural history. Whether used as bedside sconces, in a hallway, or as a bathroom ceiling feature, they provide that "warm white" Scandinavian hygge that modern LEDs often struggle to replicate.
