Woven in the ancient region of Hamadan, a historic crossroads of the Silk Road, this captivating vintage Persian rug tells a story of artistic dialogue.

 Its soul lies in the magnificent central medallion — a powerful eight-pointed star, a design born in the rugged Caucasus mountains and reimagined here with a distinctly Persian sensibility. This is not merely a pattern; it is a testament to the flow of ideas and the shared artistic language of tribal weavers across Asia.

The weaver's loom becomes a canvas for a dramatic interplay of color. The celestial star rests on a deep indigo field reminiscent of a midnight sky, a tranquil space that gives way to an outer field of fiery madder red, alive with energy and passion. Hand-knotted from luminous, hand-spun wool, the rug has a texture that is both durable and rich to the touch. Look closely, and you will see the beautiful, painterly striations known as 'abrash' —subtle shifts in color that are the authentic signature of small, hand-dyed batches of yarn, breathing life and movement into the design.

MATERIALS: Hand-Knotted Wool Foundation

DIMENSIONS: 107 cm x 157 cm

CONDTION: Good vintage condition. This piece has been professionally cleaned and is ready for immediate use. The wool pile is consistent and the structure is sound. It exhibits a beautiful, natural color variation known as 'abrash,' a desirable hallmark of authentic, hand-dyed village rugs. There is some minor color bleed, a characteristic consistent with its mid-century origins, which adds to its unique, storied patina and does not detract from its overall aesthetic power. Wear is consistent with age and history.
