With genuine industrial lineage, these pendants were originally salvaged from a Melbourne factory. Likely commissioned in the 1980s for the facility, they were built to architectural specifications designed to light vast workspaces. Now reclaimed, they offer a tangible connection to Melbourne’s manufacturing past while providing a clean, modern aesthetic.
Design & Form:
Each shade spans a substantial 62cm in diameter. The form is a classic spun metal dome finished in a high-gloss enamel. The colour is distinct yet neutral — a cool-toned grey with subtle blue undertones (Dove Grey). While the aesthetic channels the Danish Modern minimalism of Louis Poulsen or Arne Jacobsen, these lights possess a robust, utilitarian quality that only comes from genuine industrial use.
Installation:
The interior is finished in gloss white for maximum light diffusion. Uniquely, they retain an approx. 4.95m lead with a plug, allowing for immediate installation in high voids or cathedral ceilings. Alternatively, they can be shortened and hardwired by a qualified electrician to suit your specific height requirements. Suits E32 Bulb.
