Vintage Merrow Associates Preece 378G Circular Dining Table

Vintage Merrow Associates Preece 378G Circular Dining Table

$0.00 AUD

An exceptional original 1970s circular dining table, model Preece 378G, attributed to the iconic British firm Merrow Associates.

Designed by Richard Young, this table represents the height of space age British modernism. Young studied in Copenhagen under the legendary Danish designer Ole Wanscher, a background that heavily influenced his focus on structural precision and clean geometric forms. Instead of traditional wood grain, Young chose to celebrate the sleek lines of engineered metal and glass. Originally sold through exclusive London department stores like Harrods, pieces from this era remain highly sought after for their architectural impact.

This quintessential mid century piece features a brilliant frame that perfectly balances sleek architectural lines with everyday functionality. The frame has been freshly refinished to a bright, reflective metallic sheen, presenting beautifully while maintaining the clean aesthetic of the original design. Overall, the piece is in very good vintage condition.

To suit your space and style, we are offering this table with two toughened glass tops included, each finished with a beautiful polished edge. The timeless and bright clear glass top is near perfect, while the moody and dramatic smoked grey glass top shows only minor, superficial marks consistent with age, allowing you to switch up the look of your dining space.

Measuring 720 millimetres in height with a 1200 millimetre diameter, this table is the ideal size for modern living, comfortably seating four to six people. It makes a striking statement as a centrepiece in a dining room or a curated apartment space.
