A rare and significant piece of Australian design history, meticulously restored by Fox & Wedge Vintage.

This stunning sideboard is part of the iconic 'Heritage' range produced for Myer in the 1950s. Designed by the legendary Fred Ward, this piece is part of the 'Dallas' collection, celebrated for its clean lines, functional elegance, and celebration of native Australian timber.

Ward’s design ethos of prioritising simple forms and the natural beauty of the wood is perfectly captured in this piece. Constructed from solid Tasmanian Myrtle, the timber glows with a rich, golden-amber warmth that only decades of age can produce. The sideboard features the signature splayed legs and brass handles that define the era.

 

Fox & Wedge Restoration

We believe the interior of a piece deserves the same attention as the exterior. Meticulously hand-sanded, this sideboard has undergone a rigorous restoration that goes far beyond the surface. We have refinished the internal cabinetry, removable shelf, and all three drawers to ensure a smooth, clean finish throughout. The result is an exceptional vintage piece that is fresh and ready for immediate use.

We have finished the piece with Oli Natura Hardwax Oil (made in Germany). This premium, eco-friendly finish penetrates deep into the wood to protect it from within while leaving a natural, breathable, and velvety-smooth surface.

Condition

Fully restored to exceptional standard. As this is a vintage piece, minor signs of its history and use may remain, serving as a testament to its authenticity and age. Includes the otginal glass sliding door.
