Description

Framed vintage print by Italian painter Vincenzo Monti, whose work is held in public collections across Italy.

Colour screen print on canvas. Framed in dark stained timber, floating mount.

Monti worked in red more than any other colour, and it is what carries this piece: the roofs and the water and the boats along Ancona's waterfront all pulled together by it rather than by outline or detail. It is the kind of print that changes with the light in a room across the day, brighter in the morning, quieter by evening, which is exactly what he was known for chasing.
