Handmade Burl Wood Table Lamp with Hand Woven Shade, Vintage

Carved from a single piece of burl wood, its natural knots and voids are left open rather than filled, giving each side of the base a different character depending on how the light catches it.

Burl comes from the tree's own irregular growth, the grain twisting and knotting around itself in a way straight timber never does, which is what makes a piece like this genuinely one-off rather than part of a repeatable pattern. The base has been refinished in hardwax oil, bringing out the depth of the grain and the natural voids without disguising the wood's age or character.

Rewired, fitted with a new switch, tested and tagged for use in Australia. It's paired with a hand-woven shade in a fine grid weave, with warm tan and brown tones that sit well against the dark timber.
