Description

Stamped FM Denmark on the base, this Peanut lamp was designed by Jo Hammerborg for the Danish lighting company Fog & Mørup, this all-metal edition dates to around 1970.

Hammerborg trained as a silversmith at Georg Jensen before becoming Fog & Mørup's chief designer in 1957, a role he held until 1980. Under him, the company moved from softer, traditional diffusers towards a more architectural, Space Age direction, spun aluminium, precision joints, and light designed to be directional rather than ambient. This piece reflects that shift clearly.

Originally a wall-mounted sconce, we have rewired it with a 2.5m black braided lead, Australian plug and an inline switch, giving it a second life as a desktop or bedside lamp while keeping the original mounting bracket intact for anyone who wants to hang it as designed. The adjustable knuckle joint still allows a full 180 degrees of rotation and tilt. It has been fully rewired, tested and tagged to Australian standards, and comes with an Edison globe.

Shade diameter 15cm, base diameter 10cm.

Available to view in our Torquay studio.
