Description
Noblett Furniture made this bookcase and display cabinet in teak veneer, one of a number of Adelaide manufacturers producing Scandinavian-influenced furniture through the 1950s and 60s until the company closed in 1999.
The layout is genuinely versatile, with open shelving across the top for books and objects, with drop-down doors and drawers below to keep everything else out of sight. Inside, the cabinets include one timber shelf and one glass shelf. The teak has the warm, even tone that comes from a piece that has been properly looked after rather than left to fade unevenly in the sun.
Restored, in very good vintage condition. There is a minor chip and a repair to the top drawer.
Configuration: three drawers, three cabinets, two top shelves.
Dimensions: 162cm high, 120.5cm wide, 42cm deep.
