Norman Archibald for Nore Dining Table in Victorian Alpine Ash, Original Top, c1970

$1,795.00 AUD
Description

This dining table was designed by Norman Archibald for Nore Furniture, the Bayswater, Victoria manufacturer he founded in the early 1970s. Nore's work holds a genuine place in Australian design history; the National Gallery of Victoria holds a Nore lounge chair and ottoman in its permanent collection, and the brand's furniture from this period is increasingly sought after.

Handcrafted in Melbourne from solid Victorian Alpine Ash, the table's expansive top shows the timber's natural grain and warmth, with clean lines and a robust build typical of Archibald's work for Nore.

This is a rare one-owner piece, acquired in 1978 and kept in the same home for over forty years, in very good, lovingly maintained vintage condition.

Dimensions: 213cm wide, 83cm deep, 72.5cm high.
