Description
Parker Furniture's Nordic range brought Scandinavian lines into Australian homes in the early 1960s, and this teak wall mirror shows the idea at its simplest: a large, clear pane held in a slim frame, mitred at each corner.
Hang it opposite a window and it carries the daylight deeper into the room, with the warm teak outline softening the edge of all that light. At 115 cm tall, it is generous enough to check an outfit on the way out the door, and the narrow frame, with its sloped face catching the light along each side, keeps it from feeling heavy on the wall.
We restored the frame in our workshop and finished it in hardwax oil, so the grain reads clearly and the teak has a soft, low sheen rather than a glossy coat. The glass is bright and free of scratches, and the mirror is in excellent condition.
Dimensions: 100 cm W x 115 cm H. Supplied with a wall bracket and steel hanging wire.
It suits a hallway, a bedroom wall above a dresser, or a living room above a sideboard, and it pairs perfectly with teak furniture.
Wipe the frame with a soft, dry cloth, and clean the glass with a barely damp cloth, keeping moisture away from the edges so it cannot reach the silvering.
