This Lavitta Lounge Chair was designed by Timo Mikkonen and Antti Rouhunkoski for Poiat in 2016, in black oak with an upholstered seat cushion in mineral grey wool.

Lavitta was Poiat's first furniture collection, launched in 2014 and drawing on traditional Finnish outdoor furniture. The seat and backrest are two pieces of form-pressed, oak-veneered plywood that slot together, with no steel in the construction. The lounge chair takes that same language and opens it into a lower, more reclined form than the original dining chair, built for sitting rather than dining. The black oak finish and mineral grey wool sit close in tone, giving the chair a settled, monochrome presence rather than contrast for its own sake.
