A definitive piece of Australian design, the 'Norge' dining table represents the golden era of mid-century furniture production by Noblett.

This 1960s example perfectly captures the elegance and ingenuity of the period, designed to be both a beautiful object and a highly practical centrepiece for the home.

The table's beauty lies in its materials and subtle details.

Timber: The tabletop features a stunning, richly-figured Queensland Walnut veneer, selected for its deep, warm grain.

Craftsmanship: It is framed by a solid hardwood edging — a hallmark of Noblett's build quality — which provides superior durability and a seamless finish.

Form: The entire piece rests on Noblett's signature tapered legs, giving the large surface a visual lightness and a distinctly Scandinavian-inspired silhouette.

Functionality

This table is as functional as it is beautiful. It features a concealed 'butterfly' centre leaf that stores neatly within the table's frame. The smooth, easy-to-operate mechanism allows the surface to expand from a comfortable six-seater (1530mm) to a generous eight-to-ten seater (2280mm), making it a versatile solution for both daily life and large gatherings.

Our Restoration

This piece has been professionally restored by the Fox & Wedge workshop. The original surface has been stripped, carefully sanded, and refinished with Oli Natura hardwax oil. This premium finish is non-toxic, durable, and penetrates the wood to enhance the natural depth and warmth of the walnut.

The table is presented in excellent vintage condition, with the centre-leaf extension gliding smoothly.
