Description

Made by Hunt, Son and Oliver, a large Melbourne furniture manufacturer that operated from Rupert Street, Collingwood, and was already well established by 1937. The firm's work is characterised by solid timber supports paired with veneer surfaces, a combination this dining table reflects in its sculptural wishbone-style legs beneath a solid oak top.

Restored using Oli Natura hardwax oil, a finish that penetrates the timber rather than sitting on top of it, protecting the surface while keeping a natural, matte feel and letting the oak's grain show through.

Excellent restored condition.
