Anatolian Cicim Kilim with Elibelinde Motifs in Wool, c. 1960

A handwoven Anatolian Cicim kilim, using a supplementary-weft technique that raises the motifs above the flatweave ground for an embroidery-like texture. The design features a repeating Elibelinde 'hands on hips' figure along the border in deep forest green, enclosing a terracotta field with a serrated running-water edge, in madder red and saffron yellow.

Professionally cleaned. Excellent condition for its age, with minimal, even wear.
