Planet Lighting 'Studio K' Floor Lamp in White, c. 1970
Description
William Iggulden designed the Studio K for Planet Lighting, and it went into production in 1962: an Australian take on the spring balanced arm of the English Anglepoise. This floor lamp is in white.
A spring mechanism where the arm meets the stand balances the long, pale arm, so it reaches out from the weighted base and holds its position, aiming the conical head at a chair, a desk or a wall.
Excellent vintage condition, with very minor surface wear to the paintwork. The switch is crisp and the arm holds its position perfectly. Tested and tagged for use in Australia.
Dimensions: 24 cm W x 172 cm H x 14 cm D. A floor lamp of this height suits a reading corner beside an armchair, a desk in a study or a hallway, and the slim profile takes little floor space. The white finish reads cleanly against a plain wall and sits comfortably beside timber furniture.
Wipe the arm and head with a soft dry cloth.
