Giancarlo Piretti for Castelli 'Plia' Folding Chair in Yellow, c. 1970

$200.00 AUD
Description

Designed by Giancarlo Piretti for Anonima Castelli in 1967, the Plia was the first chair to fold completely flat, using a three-disc hinge mechanism. It's held in MoMA's permanent collection.

This example has a transparent yellow Cellidor seat and backrest on a chrome frame.

Original vintage condition. The acrylic remains vibrant, with minor scuffing typical of vintage examples. The chrome shows age-appropriate wear. The folding mechanism operates smoothly.

Height 75 cm, width 47 cm, depth 50 cm, seat height 44 cm.
