This authentic 1940s wall mirror is a striking example of Art Deco craftsmanship, featuring a unique arched silhouette and hand-carved stippled detailing throughout the oak frame.
It retains its original "Stantis Patent Mirror Movement" label (Reg. 1847), marking it as a high-quality piece with genuine historical provenance.
Condition & Restoration
The glass is of exceptional quality, remaining remarkably clear and bright despite minor foxing, a natural oxidation of the silvering that serves as an authentic record of its history. This clarity is a result of the high-grade plate glass used in premium 1940s furniture, which was cast thicker to ensure a distortion-free reflection.
Restored And refinished with shellac to highlight the rich grain and medullary rays of the solid oak.
Very solid and sturdy, with all joints professionally reglued.
Fitted with new wall mounting brackets for secure installation.
Shows genuine signs of age from a life well-lived. The original glass displays minor foxing, a natural oxidation of the silvering, which serves as an authentic record of its nearly century-old history.
