1960s Robin Day for Hille (Overman Sweden Edition)

1960s Robin Day for Hille (Overman Sweden Edition)

$0.00 AUD

Designed by Robin Day for Hille in 1967, these chairs represent a unique chapter in mid-century design history. Following the massive success of the British-made Polypropylene chair, Hille established a network of international licensees to meet global demand and overcome shipping costs. This specific version was produced under license in Sweden by Overman, combining British industrial innovation with Swedish manufacturing quality.

The chair features the iconic ergonomic shell that transformed modern seating, mounted on a distinctive rotating tulip or swivel base characteristic of the era. Known for its durability and minimalist profile, the design was originally pioneered through a collaboration with Shell to utilise injection-moulded polypropylene, a material that allowed for high-quality, lightweight, and flexible forms.
