Artec Teak Record Cabinet, c. 1970s
Description
Artec made this teak record cabinet in Australia, a single joined unit that forms a low storage system with room for a full record collection.
The cabinet stands on short, tapered legs, with plain teak doors and sculpted recessed handles, so nothing projects from the front. The two halves are joined into one long, calm piece, wide and low. Behind the doors, an internal shelf and open bays hold LP records upright, and the flat top has room for a turntable, speakers or a lamp. The wide, low proportion sits comfortably beneath a window, along a lounge wall or under a hung painting.
It suits a living room or study as a media and record cabinet, with enough length to anchor a wall on its own.
