Charles and Ray Eames for Herman Miller Segmented Base Table in Teal and White
Description
Charles and Ray Eames designed the Segmented Base Table for Herman Miller in 1964, creating a highly adaptable modular system of columns, feet and brackets that could support a surface of almost any size. Herman Miller has kept this iconic design in continuous production ever since.
This round iteration features a pristine white laminate top measuring 140 centimetres across, anchored by a rare and striking teal steel base. The teal finish sets it entirely apart from the standard black and polished aluminium variations, allowing the vibrant colour to ground the piece while the plain white top keeps the aesthetic clean and bright.
Supported entirely by a single central column, the clever design eliminates awkward table legs, making it exceptionally comfortable for seating four to six people. Standing at 72 centimetres high, it pairs perfectly with standard dining chairs, whether you prefer classic timber frames or moulded plastic shells.
The table remains in very good vintage condition. The white laminate surface is impeccably clean and free of marks, while the teal base shows minor surface scratches and a gentle patina consistent with its age, adding authentic character to the piece.
Its clean, circular footprint makes it a versatile choice for a dining room, a creative studio or a collaborative meeting space. A brilliant opportunity to secure a distinctive piece of mid century design history.
Dimensions: 140 cm diameter x 72 cm H.
