Description
Stamped with the British Standards Kite mark and the reference BS 1960/2056, this set of six Ercol Windsor chairs carries its original factory lacquer rather than a later refinish.
Designed by Lucian Ercolani at his High Wycombe factory, the set combines four Model 370 side chairs with two Model 370A carvers, distinguished by elm seats and steam-bent beech frames and spindles. The carver retains its blue and gold Ercol foil label, used only between 1954 and 1976, which places this set firmly in Ercol's Windsor era.
Restored with a conservation approach rather than a full strip-back. The original lacquer has been revived rather than removed, keeping the warm tone across both elm and beech intact, and minor age marks have been left in place rather than sanded out.
Width 42 cm, depth 41 cm, height 80 cm, carver arm height 67 cm. Sold as a complete set of six: four side chairs and two carvers.
