Dennis Marquart for OX Denmarq 'Prop' Bar Stool in Cork

$295.00 AUD
Description

This Prop stool was designed by Dennis Marquart for the Danish design house OX Denmarq, an industrial silhouette paired with natural materials.

Marquart trained as a blacksmith before studying furniture design at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, and time spent studying in Japan and China shows in the stool's restraint: a precise, structurally simple form rather than anything decorative. The Prop is usually seen with a leather seat; this example instead uses a natural cork top, a durable, textured material that wears differently to leather over time. The frame is finished in a satin orange powder coat. The base is built from two parallel horizontal tubes, with intersecting raised side bars doubling as a footrest.

Excellent vintage condition. The powder-coated frame is structurally sound and free of notable chips, and the cork seat shows genuine texture with very minimal wear.

Dimensions: 41cm wide, 41cm deep, 70cm high.

Suited to a kitchen island, workshop bench or bar table. Available to view in our Torquay studio.
