P.E. Jørgensen for Farsø Stolefabrik Teak Dining Chair, c. 1960
Description
P.E. Jørgensen designed this dining chair for Farsø Stolefabrik around 1960, during the years the small Danish chair factories were producing their best work. The frame is teak, with rear legs that rake backwards and a curved backrest that wraps gently around the shoulders. The seat sits within the frame so that it appears to float.
The seat has been reupholstered in deep green Warwick velvet over new foam, a colour that sits well against the warm tone of the teak.
The chair is in very good vintage condition and has been sympathetically restored. A small section of veneer on the backrest has been repaired.
Width 47 cm, depth 50 cm, height 77 cm, seat height 44 cm.
