Description

Commissioned by Royal Doulton to mark the millennium, this limited-edition sculpture is cast in Parian ware, a bisque porcelain valued since the 19th century for its resemblance to carved marble. The matte white finish highlights the detailing of the plumage without the distraction of glaze or colour. Mounted on a clear acrylic rod and base.

This example is numbered 25 of 1500, impressed with the "Millennium 2000" clock-face seal and hand-inscribed with its edition number.

Excellent vintage condition. Parian body crisp, free from handling marks, chips, or cracks. Acrylic stand clear and stable.
