The Princess of Burma "Saw Ohn Nyun" | Mid-Century Lithograph by Sir Gerald Kelly

The Princess of Burma "Saw Ohn Nyun" | Mid-Century Lithograph by Sir Gerald Kelly

$0.00 AUD

In the early 1900s, Sir Gerald Kelly became so captivated by the poise of Princess Saw Ohn Nyun that he painted her portrait over thirty times. While Kelly eventually became the President of the Royal Academy and the preferred portraitist of the British Royal Family, it was this specific study of Burmese grace that defined his legacy for a generation of mid-century collectors.

By the 1960s, these high-quality prints were the height of sophisticated home decor across Australia and the UK. This particular piece is a genuine relic of that era, still housed in its original textured gold frame. The soft, ambient glow of the Princess's silks and her serene expression carry a quiet, soulful energy that modern reproductions simply cannot replicate.
