Restored Parker Dining Chairs in Teak | Model 62

$1,850.00 AUD
Description

Honeyed teak is the first thing you notice on these four Model 62 dining chairs, refinished in hardwax oil and upholstered in Warwick Eastwood Slate. Parker Furniture made the Model 62 in Sydney during the 1960s, and the design is a staple of Australian mid century dining rooms.

The frames and legs are solid teak. We stripped them and applied a premium hardwax oil, which leaves a matte surface and lets the grain show. It is a trade quality finish that copes with daily use far better than traditional lacquer, and it can be spot repaired at home if a chair picks up a mark.

Inside, every old material has been removed. New webbing and high quality foam now sit under the Warwick Eastwood Slate, replacing the parts of a vintage chair that give out first. The fabric has the texture and appearance of aged leather, while its Halo easy clean finish is hard wearing and simple to maintain, which suits a kitchen table that sees daily use. The aim was a set that can serve another sixty years.

Condition is excellent, professionally restored in the Fox & Wedge workshop and ready for a new home. Dimensions: 79 cm H x 49 cm W x 49 cm D, seat height 46 cm. The 46 cm seat height suits a standard dining table. Sold as a set of four.
