Description
Skaraborgs Möbelindustri made this oval extension dining table in teak in the 1960s, in Tibro, the small Swedish town that grew into a centre of the country's furniture making.
The top is a long, soft oval with an even, warm grain and no applied banding, and slim legs taper away from a curved joint beneath the apron. Closed, it seats six around its rounded ends. Two drop in leaves, stored beneath the top, each add 50 cm, so the table runs to 215 cm with one in place and 265 cm with both.
We restored the table in our workshop and finished it in Oli Natura hardwax oil, which deepens the colour of the teak and leaves a soft, matte surface. Excellent restored condition.
Dimensions: approximately 165 cm long closed, 215 cm with one leaf and 265 cm with both, 106 cm wide and 73 cm high.
Use placemats under hot dishes and wipe spills with a damp cloth. A worn patch in the hardwax oil can be touched up without refinishing the whole top.
