Description

Fred Lowen designed the T5 for Tessa in Melbourne around 1975, late in a career that had already produced some of the defining sofa and armchair shapes of Australian mid-century design through his earlier work for Fler. This example retains its original wool upholstery on a solid eucalyptus frame.

The sofa spent most of its life in a holiday home with very little day-to-day use, which explains why the original sling backrest and wool upholstery remain in near-perfect condition for their age rather than the more common well-worn examples of this model. Finding one with this much of its original material intact is genuinely uncommon.

Frame restored. Original upholstery dry cleaned rather than replaced. If you'd prefer new foam and reupholstery, message us for a quote.
