Vintage 1970s Ellis Pottery Ceramic Lamp with Original Beaded Shade
This striking sculptural piece is an original Ellis Pottery lamp base, produced in Australia during the late 1960s or early 1970s. It features the iconic crater block form, a brutalist-inspired design with deeply recessed circular panels.
The glaze is a sophisticated mix of high-gloss gold bronze-lustre and a textured, lava-style drip glaze that provides incredible depth and character. This specific design is a wonderful local interpretation of the European brutalist movement, often compared to the iconic Facette series by Cari Zalloni.
This stunning lamp is paired with its rare original fabric shade, featuring a geometric weave and delicate amber bead fringing that creates a beautiful, warm ambient glow.
Condition:
Excellent vintage condition. The ceramic is free from chips or cracks, and the metallic bronze-lustre glaze remains vibrant and reflective.
The original shade is in great condition, with the geometric textile and bead fringe intact.
