A hand-knotted Hamadan rug on a cotton foundation, featuring a field of repeating diamond medallions in deep indigo against a madder red ground, framed by a boteh (paisley) border.

Hamadan rugs use a cotton foundation rather than an all-wool structure, giving them added stability and resistance to shrinking or warping.

Professionally cleaned. Excellent vintage condition, with a thick, even pile.
